Dear PHP Quality Assurance Team,
I have been coding in PHP for 7 years now, and have many pieces of software depending on the
functionality of your scripting language. I tried writing your support team earlier today about an
issue concerning PHP, and I feel like they are not taking me seriously.
I provided them with a reproducable example for a major error with V4.4.2, but it seems like
they only perused the content, provided a response which was common knowledge, and marked my ticket
as bogus.
There is a serious issue with including relative paths from included files, after manually
"INI setting" the "include_path" variable.
Additionally, I can't respond to my support ticket, because the website is not functioning
properly. It keeps telling me I have an incorrect password, when I saved my password in notepad and
used the same one (copy & paste).
Please help me get in touch with someone. There are no contact numbers or email addresses
listed on your site to resolve this issue. I feel like I am being ignored/not taken seriously and
that is not what I expected from a respectable company like yours. What is a programmer to do?
Below is an example of my ticket/problem and responses. Please help me get this issue at least
recognized so that it can be corrected.
The example consists of files
/mainfile.php - INI sets appension to path "./ws", and includes ws/wsfile.php
/ws/wsfile.php - Includes "../inc/incfile.php"
/inc/incfile.php
Running mainfile does not work. The script can't find "../inc/incfile.php" from the
current working directory (root directory), even though the include_path should be looking from the
perspective of "./ws" at least once which is equivalent to "/ws".
If I am under /ws, then of course I can see/include "../inc/incfile.php". Even the
warning shows the right include path.
I am upset this ticket was overlooked because the issue with PHP's include is so obvious.
Please respond, and thank you for reading my email.
