zak, do you think we should assign valid bugs to ourselves?I assign bugs to myself for several reasons. a.) To reduce the clutter on the bug list. b.) To let others know that I am actively working on validating the bug. c.) To make it easier for myself to find the bugs that I am actively working on.
perhaps zeev & co. won´t look into them then anymore...I don't see this as a problem. When I assign a bug to myself, I am only trying to make sure that the bug is valid. I may post questions to the list, contact one of the qa team members or ask one of the prime developers for help directly. As soon as I know that a bug is valid, I find someone to fix the bug and re-assign it to them. If I cannot determine the status of the bug, I re-open it.
