I've run into a weird problem.
I always compile PHP with crypt() support, since I have a few applications that depend on it. This
is something I do a lot, and all the steps needed to do it on Win32 has just become second nature to
me.
On my home machine 4.0.6 RC4 builds fine. However, this morning at work I went to build it again and
I get the following error message in crypt.c:
V:\php-4.0.6RC4\ext\standard\crypt.c(102) : error C2065: 'PHP_EXT_DES_CRYPT' : undeclared
identifier
V:\php-4.0.6RC4\ext\standard\crypt.c(103) : error C2065: 'PHP_MD5_CRYPT' : undeclared
identifier
V:\php-4.0.6RC4\ext\standard\crypt.c(104) : error C2065: 'PHP_BLOWFISH_CRYPT' : undeclared
identifier
(Lines 102 - 104.) There are quite a few #ifdef's in crypt.c, so I'm not totally sure
what's going on in order to try to debug this. If I comment out those three lines, it builds
and works normally. From what I can gather PHP uses it's own DES encryption on Win32 (ala
libcrypt).
Normally I would just ignore these errors and go on my way, but since this is an RC, I figured I
should at least mention it.
