Hey all,
so I have written a proposal for making QA something that can be done by
anyone - and in a very simple way, so people can have QA happening whilst
they work on other things.
Check out the proposal at http://www.php.net/~imajes/qa.html
Replies are *expected* :)
Mac OS X via cron (it's BSD with a different GUI, so cron should still be there)
I'm not sure what XML gains you, but if it makes you happy, go ahead and use it... AFAIK, XML is good for distributed processing, or making yourself "feel good" about having the "data definition" buried in the data, which doesn't do you a damn bit of good, but it seems to be the rage, so have at it... :-)
The design itself is fine, as are the other half-dozen that have been put forward...
What's lacking is implementation and a zillion test cases... :-)
I think I saw some emails crossing the PHP-QA list from you that indicated some kind of reporting structure was going out to PHP-QA... A couple emails with Array() in them, one with actual contents. This is good.
But does your shell take the existing test cases as they are...?
