introduction (extended version)

peace: I saw a post on MacSlash and immediately (re)configured Mail on my powerbook to join the list. My primary system is a PBG4 running OS X as my main gun; and I've got an iMac running 9.2, and a Win2Ktel/PIII as well. I've done a fair amount of Perl/CGI stuff for the past 18 months (on Linix and Wintel) and a few PHP projects as well (and I've had a taste of C++). I build websites for a living, and stay up late learning Flash. I was at flashforward in SF last week and came home with a copy of MX and a determination to leverage my (fledging) code skills against developing UIs in Flash, middleware in PHP and XML, and MySQL on the backend. I did some QA at my last job for Microsoft's Outsmart! game that's on their game zone site (I worked for the developer.), so I do have a bit of a clue. I hope I can be of service, as I'm very serious about developing my PHP skillset, and have already bought two books. /arthur turnbull
