IMHO, removing Apache2 support will not affect the number of Apache2-related bugs reported
How can there be if we remove apache2 completely ? :)
The bugs introduced *BY* ripping out code, for starters. Ripping code out at this stage is just a bad idea, IMNSHO. Sure, you "know" it's not going to affect the build process or anything else, right? Uh-hunh. I've heard *that* one before. CVS users will, of course, still be reporting bugs... I think Mike's thesis is that anybody who wants to try Apache 2 with PHP is going to be able to use snaps or cvs to do it anyway, so the same number of bugs will get reported. While I disagree with that -- There will always be naive users who go with bleeding edge features of otherwise stable software and then be shocked that it doesn't work right... Anyway, I *still* think removing code, no matter how innocuous that change might seem, is a Bad Idea. Document the hell out of it, whatever state it's in, but *DON'T* alter the source from what has been QA-ed. -- Got Music? http://l-i-e.com/artists.htm
