Apache2 and the PHP 4.2.1

Hi guys!
I downloaded Apache 2.0.36 and the PHP 4.2.1, is there anyway I could use PHP4 with Apache2? I know PHP on Apache 2 is somehow inmature, but I just can´t seem to get enough information on how to make PHP 4.2.1 and Apache 2 work together.
I´m running Windows XP professional with Apache 2.0.36, mod_ssl, OpenSSL/0.9.6d DAV/2.
