The latest release (in each major version) plus the "current
development" version are accepted.
5.2.6RC1 is the latest 5 release so the script blocks everything but
5.2.6RC1 and the current dev (5.2.6RC2-dev).
4.4.8 is the latest 4 release so the script blocks everything but
4.4.8 and the current dev (4.4.9-dev).
