Re: First timer needs to clarify a few things

I'm very excited to participate, for the first time, in a PHP TestFest. But I have a few questions that I must ask so I can understand the logistics of this: 1) I've registered a 'personal' account @ testfest.php.net (user: galvao) so I can contribute. I've also want to bring the PUG I run into this, so should I create a separate account to 'hold' the work that will be done by the group? Or I just use my 'personal' account to do it all? We will actually have a separate SVN repository this year so that people can contribute tests directly into it. We used the FlySpray bug tracker last year and will probably not use it this year. The SVN repository isn't set up yet but will be soon. Our plan (I'm copying Scott who is setting it up) is that we will give UG leads admin rights to that you can create IDs for people in your group.

2) We'll have to gain access to CVS so we can publish our test cases, correct? If so, I should request one account for me and one for the group (the issue here is similar to the one above) or just one for me? You don't need it :-)

3) A mentor will be assigned to us (the group), correct? Correct - this is on my to do list for the next couple of weeks. Ideally mentors would be in the same geography as the group but it's unlikely to be possible to achieve this so we need to establish which mentors are happy to work remotely.

4) The mentor will assign which test cases we'll be responsible for, correct? Not necessarily. We could suggest what tests you should write, we can show you which functions are not much tested but - you may have expertise in a particular area already, if so it would be sensible to write tests for the functions you know.
