Hi
The subject of running run-test.php came up on IRC, I thought it was worth summarising. There are two widely used ways to run tests.
(1) Most of the developers seem to use something like this:
cd php_top_level_source_dir
make test TESTS= the/ext/I/wnat/to/test
I think this is easier if you are fixing and rebuilding PHP a lot.
(2) The alternative way (which I use because I'm mainly just running tests) is to have a script in my bin directory (called, for example, run53):
#!/bin/sh
export TEST_PHP_EXECUTABLE=/mnt/workspace/PHP/php53/sapi/cli/php
$TEST_PHP_EXECUTABLE /mnt/workspace/PHP/php53/run-tests.php $*
so that when I want to run test(s), I just type
run53 mytest.phpt
I also have run52 and run6 scripts. On Windows I use a .bat file which looks pretty similar.
Hope this helps,
Zoe
