Hello!
You are receiving this email because your project has been selected to
take part in an effort by the PHP QA Team to make sure that your project
still works with PHP versions to-be-released. With this we hope to make
sure that you are either aware of things that might break, or to make
sure we don't introduce any strange regressions.
As we could learn with PHP 5.3.7 it is critical to test a release before
being shipped with as many applications as possible. Please help us
doing that!
The first release candidate for 5.3.9 was just released and can be
downloaded from these locations:
http://downloads.php.net/johannes/php-5.3.9RC1.tar.bz2
(md5sum:
5e8564008606edfab6a81137c1daf354)
The Windows binaries are available at: http://windows.php.net/qa/
IMPORTANT: PHP 5.3.7 changed the behavior of the is_a() function[1]. PHP
5.3.9 is suppose to fix that regression. Please help us to verify this
regression was fixed and that no new regressions were introduced by
testing this release candidate with your code base. Please send even
positive test feedback as you can expect being harassed if no feedback
is received. :-)
Our goal is, depending on feedback, to have a 2nd RC two weeks from now.
In case you think that other projects should also receive this kinds
of emails, please let me know privately, and I will add them to the
list of projects to contact.
Best Regards,
Johannes Schlüter
