DTML?

Just to complicate things further, I was wondering about the use of Zope's
DTML (Document Template Markup Language -- the ref is at
http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Guides/DTML-HTML/DTML.html)
as a
template markup language for PHP.
Have you already considered it?
DTML would have a few pros:
1 - compatibility with Zope templates
2 - adherence to a "standard" or to a subset of it
3 - templates commands and vars masked inside HTML comments
On the other hand, DTML looks a little too much, it is a sort of
programming language in itself.
What do you think?
