I'm using a recent php snapshot (Feb 9), Solaris 7 (intel), mod_perl as
well.
I've noticed that if you compile with the --with-system-regex function
everything works fine. I do not get things multiply defined. So, I don't
get the same error as you. However, I'm very careful to run configure only
once on a clean distribution. I've noticed similair build problems when
I do multiple configure(s) on the same source tree.
With NO (--with-system-regex). I find trouble when using split() or any
other regex based function. I get seg faults and memory allocation errors.
This only happens when php is run within apache. Run php as a script
(/usr/local/bin/php) has no trouble. So, in this case I have the same error
as you.
Which version of php are you using?
