I think it could probably be part of PEAR. We don't need to bloat the language with constants and more functions just because it's nicer to have them in C. If we can implement this functionality pretty easily with what PHP already has then doing it in PEAR would probably be better. I think in general, we should start switching our minds to doing stuff in PEAR if possible. Well, I'm a bit skeptic about this. Stig, as the founding father of PEAR, what do you think?
