From Apache manual (regarding "Premature end of script headers"):
"The second most common cause of this (aside from people not outputting
the required headers at all) is a result of an interaction with Perl's
output buffering"
Could this behaviour be caused by PHP4's output buffering also?
Try turning it off (if its even on in the first place), that might fix it.
