i compiled php3.0.12 cgi binary with "--enable-discard-path" option.
and copy php(php3 cgi binary file) to /usr/local/bin.
i put test.cgi in /usr/local/apache/cgi-bin/
(apache version 1.3.11)

#!/usr/local/bin/php
<?
echo "hello";
?>

$>lynx http://localhost/cgi-bin/test.cgi
hello
(works good)

i also compiled php4b4pl1 cgi binary with "--enable-discard-path" option.
copy php(php4 cgi binary file) to /usr/local/bin
$>lynx http://localhost/cgi-bin/test.cgi
==> INTERNAL SERVER ERROR !!!
$>tail -f /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log
................

PHP4 problem?
