When running the configure script on PHP-4.0b3 i get the following answers
... many lines ...
checking for standard DES crypt... yes
checking for extended DES crypt... yes
checking for MD5 crypt... yes
checking for Blowfish crypt... yes
... many lines ...
And the installation of the module finishes smoothly
Doing the same configure on PHP-4.0b5-dev (this also happens on PHP-4.0b4
and PHP-4.0b4pl1) I get
... many lines ...
checking for standard DES crypt... no
checking for extended DES crypt... no
checking for MD5 crypt... no
checking for Blowfish crypt... no
... many lines ...
Which to me is wierd, when this is the exact opposite answers to the
b3-configure
And during make it crashes on:
crypt.c: In function `php_if_crypt':
crypt.c:120: `PHP_MAX_SALT_LEN' undeclared (first use this function)
crypt.c:120: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
crypt.c:120: for each function it appears in.)
crypt.c:120: size of array `salt' has non-integer type
crypt.c: At top level:
crypt.c:111: warning: `php_to64' defined but not used
*** Error code 1
Stop.
*** Error code 1
Stop.
*** Error code 1
Stop.
*** Error code 1
Stop.
Now I'm no expert here but after looking at the ext/standard/crypt.c file it
looks to me as if none of
the configure-crypt answer yes the PHP_MAX_SALT_LEN never gets declared
which in turn crashes
the make of crypt.c.
The best thing would obviously be to find out why one answer yes and works
while the other answers no and
dies, and create some kind of fix for this. Unfortunately this is above me.
The complete build attempt of PHP-4.0b5 is available at
http://tyfon.net/download/php-build.txt.
