Help! I can't modify session variables once they're set

Hi all, Hope you can help me with this problem that's currently destroying my Friday night. Once I session_register a variable and set it, I'm unable to modify it, even if I unregister and register again. This can't be right, although the annotated manual lists a few people complaining about this very problem. Here's a code snippet: session_register($playerLeagueId); $playerLeagueId = $leagueId; The first time thru it works fine, but once the value is set, it can't be reset (unless I restart my browser.)
