A follow-up to my resent posting about troubles loading libphp_java.so
in a resent CVS-checkout (PHP 4):
The Apache error log lines
PHP Fatal error: Unable to load dynamic library
'/usr/lib/apache/libphp_java.so' - /usr/lib/apache/libphp_java.so:
undefined symbol: JNI_CreateJavaVM in Unknown on line 0
and a hint from a guy in my nearest unix newsgroup about using "nm":
nm -o --defined-only lib* | grep -i jni_create
led me to /usr/local/jre/lib/i386/classic/libjvm.so
- So changing my Apache init script line:
---from---
httpd
----to----
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/local/jre/lib/i386/classic/libjvm.so httpd
cured the problem. Now phpinfo() has several lines bragging about it's
new Java facilities.
I guess that a more permanent solution is needed in PHP (which I can't
provide), but for now, I'm happy.
My last assignment for tonight must be to find a useful application for
this strange PHP+Java mix... :-)
