$HTTP_POST_FILES with register_globals off.

I have looked at the entire contents of the HTTP_POST_FILES array and I am
unable to find where the tmp filename is located. If I turn register globals
back on $userfile works. Could it be somewhere besides the HTTP_POST_FILES
array? Thanks.
