I'd like to run some benchmarks on PHP4 (free bsd) with Zend both on and off. But from what I can see, it is on all the time; phpinfo() displays:
This program makes use of the Zend scripting language engine:
Zend Engine v0.90, Copyright (c) 1998, 1999 Andi Gutmans, Zeev Suraski
My /usr/local/lib/php3.ini was untouched by the installation, and does not contain the zend enabling directive. I also see
Configure command: ./configure '--with-apache=/com/apache_1.3.12' '--with-mysql=/com/mysql' '--enable-track-vars'
php.ini path: /usr/local/lib
Is the ini file a different name now? I didn't see a default one in the distribution tarball.
Is there a way I can turn zend on and off from within an individual page, rather than restarting the server?
