Hi; I've personally just started in on PHP development, and was wondering if there is an XML compliant way to contain PHP code within an attribute value and maintain the XML compliance of the PHP *source* code. For example <BODY TEXT="...php code here..."> is XML compliant but <BODY TEXT="<?PHP print "Ick! it's an angle bracket in an attribute value!" ?>"> is not (even though the resultant HTML delivered to the browser will be structurally correct) ...php code here... can not contain any characters that are not allowed in attribute values (so no <?PHP xml processing instructions ?> inside the attribute value). If the PHP syntax had a construct that was valid for attribute values specifically, there would be a lot of play to create WYSIWYG editing environments for PHP... I can think of one in particular that would be well suited for this. the Miva "Empresa" language has a construct &[ ...code or function call goes here ...] that comes to mind... could /is something similar supported by PHP? -- Ryan Germann, Web Services Manager SoftQuad Software Inc., Suite 400, 161 Eglinton Ave. E.
