Hello, I am new to this list, and have spent many hours searching the
archives for the answer to this question, and without finding i'm going
to comment.
All this is for php4, I asked it here instead of the developers list
due to the fact that php3 and php4 look nothing alike in the code base.
I didn't want to get confusing answers for wrong versions.
I am writing .so files to be included with php4, these could be very
usefull except the fact i'm having a difficult time calling other php
functions from within the code. I have made assumptions that shared
modules act just like they are part of actual php code once they are
loaded, and I have got quite a few shared modules to work great.
If someone could email me, or post some examples of how to call other
php functions properly, I would very much appreciate, for example..
SET_VAR_LONG("database",php_pgsql_do_connect("connection string",0));
What am I doing wrong? I wish I could look at a reference or manual
somewhere... which brings me to another point.. where is this stuff
documentated? Isn't the whole purpose of open source to allow other people
to edit and add to the code base? I scan over lines and lines and lines of
code, and there ends up being many ways of doing the exact same thing.
Whats sad is, maybe it isn't the exact same thing, the aparent outcome is
that, but since its not written down anywhere what it does.. how do you
know? Ohh well, i'll stop bugging you guys.
