Help Please

I need help with install problem on a winnt box. I have a problem upgrading from a stable php3 system to a php4 unit. I have tried to install php4_beta following all the instructions and keep getting an access violation with php.exe. I have read all the mail archives and only saw a message with a close reference to this type of problem in which the suggested remedy was to download the next release and try it. I have just finished installing php4_rc1 and still receive the same error message. I only have a test file with <phpinfo> as the body being parsed.
