Gregor- I had similar problems with one of the pre-RC1 PHP4 snapshots. I never did figure out what the problem was, but I was able to work around it. However, I have recently installed PHP4RC1 with --disable-debug, because I decided to try out the ZendOptimizer, and this seems to have fixed my problems. (this is the only option I changed between the snapshot I was using and RC1.) Perhaps there is some debug code that causes these warnings to happen? So my suggestion is to try compiling RC1 with "--disable-debug" and see if that solves your problem. Hope this helps, - Ben Schumacher At 04:35 PM 3/31/00 +0200, you wrote:
Hi! there are a few probs with php4rc1 and mysql-functions: - mysql_query produces a warning, like "could not return result-set" after an (successful or not) insert-query. - mysql_query("something") or die($mysql_error()); dies everytime, regardless of the success of the operation (that means, it dies also with an empty mysql_error()) - mysql_insert_id returns 0 in every case (and that is always wrong, autoincremented id's start with 1). mit freundlichen Grüßen,
