I build PHP 4.0RC1 on FreeBSD 3.4 against Apache 1.3.12:
CFLAGS=-O2 LDFLAGS="-Wl,-rpath,/opt/TWWfsw/libgdbm18/lib
-Wl,-rpath,/opt/TWWfsw/pgsql653/lib -Wl,-rpath,/opt/TWWfsw/libmm/lib"
./configure --with-zlib=/opt/TWWfsw/zlib
--with-gdbm=/opt/TWWfsw/libgdbm18 --with-db2=/opt/TWWfsw/libdb2
--enable-track-vars --with-xml
--with-apxs=/opt/TWWfsw/apache1312/bin/apxs
--with-config-file-path=/etc/opt/TWWfsw/php40
--with-mm=/opt/TWWfsw/libmm --with-pgsql=/opt/TWWfsw/pgsql653
--prefix=/opt/TWWfsw/apache1312
and the build went OK. However, when I run httpd with libphp4.so
loaded, memory consumption for the httpd process baloons to >128MB.
libphp3.so doesn't exhibit this behaviour. What gives? I've linked
against MM 1.0.12, GDBM 1.8.0, Berkeley DB 2.7.7, PostgreSQL 6.5.3.
