Hi,
I'm trying to build PHP4RC1 on AIX 4.3.3
$ ./configure --with-apxs --disable-debug
[runs file]
$ make
...
/bin/sh ../../../libtool --silent --mode=compile gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H
-I. -I/home/root/compile/php-4.0RC1/ext/mysql/libmysql
-I../../.. -I../../../Zend -I/home/root/compile/php-4.0RC1
-I/usr/local/include/apache
-I/home/root/compile/php-4.0RC1/ext/mysql/libmysql
-I/home/root/compile/php-4.0RC1/ext/xml/expat/xmltok
-I/home/root/compile/php-4.0RC1/ext/xml/expat/xmlparse
-DXML_BYTE_ORDER=21 -D_THREAD_SAFE -O2 -c libmysql.c

ok, so there's something wrong with MySQL. Can I do some thing to fix it
(for the time being I do need MySQL)?
In the mean time it seems to compile without MySQL-support:
$ ./configure --with-apxs --disable-debug --without-mysql
[fine]
$ make clean
$ make
but when I do:
$ make install
to have .libs/libphp4.so (which do not exist!?) copied to
/usr/local/lib/apache I get the following error:
$ make install
...
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/root/compile/php-4.0RC1'
apxs -i -a -n php4 libs/libphp4.so
cp libs/libphp4.so /usr/local/lib/apache/libphp4.so
cp: libs/libphp4.so: No such file or directory
apxs:Break: Command failed with rc=65536

$
$ ls -l .libs/
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 16 Apr 14 20:31 libphp4.a ->
libphp4.so.0.0.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 13 Apr 14 20:31 libphp4.la ->
../libphp4.la
-rw-r--r-- 1 root system 732 Apr 14 20:31 libphp4.lai
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root system 16 Apr 14 20:31 libphp4.so.0 ->
libphp4.so.0.0.0
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root system 1819892 Apr 14 20:31 libphp4.so.0.0.0
I'v tried to copy .libs/php4.so.0.0.0 to /usr/local/lib/apache/libphp4.so
and add the appropriate config directives to httpd.conf, but then
apachecrl configtest (or apachectl start) just dumps core.
Is it possible to build PHP4 as a Apache module under AIX?
I'm using GCC 2.95.2, GNU make 3.78.1, and Apache 1.3.12
all fetch from http://www-frec.bull.com/
Thank you
/Michael
