OK, see then the _real_ bug comes up. The one where the variables take on
other values. That's why you need the 3 files. Can I now send you all 3
original files that were causing the first bug?!?!
Do you see why you need all 3 now?!
If you run the files (logon.php first) and enter a user and pass, submit and
view the values on the next page. You'll notice that the values from the
form override the values in the object after you run a method from the
object passing in variables from the page. This is the original bug, and the
one I was concerned about.
(You'll have to put the auth.php file in a dir called "class" or, change the
require statements on both files)

no bug here -
*ofcourse* you have to make the class definition available to
test2.php as well! (maybe using includes;)
if you used error_reporting(-1) you would have seen that php
complains about "Warning: Unserializing non-existant class:
stdClass! No methods will be available! in
/dot/dgs/tc/test2.php3 on line 2"
your problem will dissapear if you prepend your class
definition to test2.php as well!
