I tried setting extension_dir to some value, but it does not seem to be available when loading extensions. extension = /some/path Setting it to the default ./ also fails. The extension is a "self-contained" mysql. On the phpinfo() page the extension_dir variable is displayed correctly, but when running strace on httpd, the module is not found. Php looks in the standard shared lib paths but not in the extension_dir path. Setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the directory containing the extension helps, but this is not how it did work before. Setting an absolute path for the extension also works. extension=/path/to/extension.so I added some printfs to ext/standard/dl.c and the extension_dir variable seem to be NULL. What is wrong? This is with the latest PHP4 from cvs on Redhat Linux 6.1. Another bug? is that spaces around the = in the extension line seem to disable loading the extension. Hope these bugs gets fixed in RC2!
