Relase it! I´ve found some possible error-sources, after having restarted Win2000 everything works fine. I think it has something to do with either MSVC debuggin, mozilla crashing, mozilla objects registration. I´ll try out which component this behaviour caused... but it´s specific to my (and perhaps very few others) system.
