RC2 problem

Ok, maybe I should ask this on the Apache list instead, if so...tell me.
Successfully compiled and installed RC2
But when I try to start Apache it says:
Cannot load /usr/local/apache/libexec/libphp4.so into server: libmhash.so.2:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Why?
Configured with:
./configure --disable-debug --enable-track-vars --enable-sysvsem
--enable-sysvshm --with-dbmaker=/home/dbmaker/3.6
--with-mhash=/usr/local/lib --with-mcrypt=/usr/local/lib
--with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs
