Hi Sascha & All, Platform: SCO 5.0.4 Openserver Problem: syslog is defined in the syslog.h file to std_syslog or var_syslog Going through this syslog thing is opening a real can of worms. Which one of the developers is the best to speak to regarding this - unless it's yourself of course. It's that *&*&^%$^$ing redefining of syslog to either std_syslog or var_syslog in SCO's syslog.h file. Even though I can get it to compile by altering basic_functions.c, I now know it's not right. I suspected the php function syslog() would be std_syslog(). I've tested this and proved right. It works as std_syslog() but not exactly portable! The trouble is now wherever syslog is used through the source it's treated as std_syslog because of this defining of syslog. The rest *seems* to be working, I get the phpinfo() page - looks much better than 3 :). I could probably bodge round it, but sooner or later someone will change the source and Mr cock-up is going to come a calling. Anyone got any idea's ? Best regards, Paul nm of basic_functions.c (grep syslog) [115] | 0| 0|NOTY |GLOB |0 |UNDEF |php_rshutdown_std_syslog [121] | 0| 0|NOTY |GLOB |0 |UNDEF |php_rinit_std_syslog [132] | 0| 0|NOTY |GLOB |0 |UNDEF |php_minit_std_syslog [214] | 0| 0|NOTY |GLOB |0 |UNDEF |php_if_define_syslog_vari ables [216] | 0| 0|NOTY |GLOB |0 |UNDEF |php_if_std_syslog
