mysql_fetch_array, accepts no second param

I´m really not sure why this does not work: mysql_fetch_array($result,'MYSQL_ASSOC'); It results in an empty array. If I call mysql_fetch_array($result) I get an array of type MYSQL_BOTH. I browsed through a lot of the code and CVS and I´m really no C expert, I could not find out what went wrong. regards --
