Php 4.0.0 + Gd 1.73 + Png 1.0.6 And That Funny Platform Again

Dear list, The current release of Php appears to have a broken configure script with respect to GD + PNG support ( similar to RC2 ). I am not sure if this is specific to my slightly peculiar platform ( HPUX 11 ) or not, but anyway in case anyone else has similar problems the recipe below will "sort it". ( I am pretty sure that this is a "sufficient" rather than "necessary" solution so to speak, but it does work - someone more familiar with this confgure business than me can supply a better fix.
