Hello P H People:
I'm using PHP4 on Linux/Apache with ODBC to OpenLink to MSSQL database.
My problem is aliased column names are being truncated to 30 characters.
I see a fixed memory allocation [32] characters in a structure defined in php4/ext/odbc/php_odbc.h
Is it too much to hope that expanding this 32 character limit to, say, 64 characters will
ameliorate the symbol truncation problem?
It may well be that there are other 'strait gates' (narrow gates) through which this data
has to pass (e.g. in the OpenLink driver), so this change might not fix my problem.
Apart from that, what would changing this field width to 64 break?
php4/ext/odbc/php_odbc.h:
typedef struct odbc_result_value {
char name[32];
...
}
Thanks for any advice!
