This is actually the problem I ment report. Same scenerio after the make
install, apache can't find my libmysqlclient.so.6, but it is in
/usr/local/lib/mysql like it should be. The error os below.
Redhat 6.0 (2.2.5-15) 96MB, PII266 (Mobile).
I am getting compile errors when I get to the compiling Apache part of
the installation. I can compile PHP4B1 fine using:
./configure --with-mysql --without-gd --with-apache=../apache_1.3.6
--enable-track-vars
(I had to take gd out because of the gd 1.6 issue or whatever, it
couldn't fine gettext.c or something)
make
make install
Then:
./configure --prefix=/www --activate-module=src/modules/php4/libphp4.a
Works fine but when I make it, it's ok for a while then I get:
.
.
.
gcc -DLINUX=2 -I/root/php-4.0b1 -I/root/php-4.0b1/libzend
-I/root/php-4.0b1/libzend -I/root/php-4.0b1 -DUSE_HSREGEX
../apaci
-o gen_test_char gen_test_char.o -Lmodules/php4 -L../modules/php4
-L../../modules/php4 -lmodphp4 -L/root/php-4.0b1/ext/pcre/pcrelib -lpcre
-L/root/php-4.0b1/regex -lregex -lgdbm -L/usr/local/lib/mysql
-lmysqlclient -lpam -ldl -lm -lcrypt -lnsl -lresolv -rdynamic -lm
-lcrypt
./gen_test_char >test_char.h
./gen_test_char: error in loading shared libraries: libmysqlclient.so.6:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
make[3]: *** [test_char.h] Error 127

make[1]: *** [build-std] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/root/apache_1.3.6'
make: *** [build] Error 2
Then it stops. /usr/local/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.so.6 exists.
