I'm having the same problem. I just upgraded Redhat5.2 with the newest
autoconf and automake:
samgr@breakfree[~/cvs/php4]> ./buildconf
buildconf: checking installation...
buildconf: autoconf version 2.13 (ok)
buildconf: automake version 1.4 (ok)
aclocal: configure.in: 79: macro `AM_PROG_LIBTOOL' not found in library
buildconf: created or modified aclocal.m4
autoconf: Undefined macros:
***BUG in Autoconf--please report*** AC_ADD_INCLUDE
***BUG in Autoconf--please report*** AC_ADD_LIBRARY_WITH_PATH
***BUG in Autoconf--please report*** AC_ADD_INCLUDE
(snip)
When I do it step by step this happens:
samgr@breakfree[~/cvs/php4]> ./scripts/preconfig
samgr@breakfree[~/cvs/php4]> aclocal
aclocal: configure.in: 79: macro `AM_PROG_LIBTOOL' not found in library
samgr@breakfree[~/cvs/php4]> autoheader
samgr@breakfree[~/cvs/php4]> automake -a -i
samgr@breakfree[~/cvs/php4]> autoconf
autoconf: Undefined macros:
***BUG in Autoconf--please report*** AC_ADD_INCLUDE
***BUG in Autoconf--please report*** AC_ADD_LIBRARY_WITH_PATH
....
