Hi, I successfuly installed PHP4.0b1 on an Red Hat 5.2 (using apxs, DSO). But I had a little trouble to enable the pgsql option (--with-pgsql=/usr). php4's installer uses the '-Wl' option of the apxs (on the last stage of make install), but the apxs in the apache-devel-1.3.3 package which is bundled with Red Hat 5.2, doesn't have '-Wl' flag. I changed this manually and it worked fine. It didn't happen when I disabled the pgsql option. Red Hat 5.2 is obsolete, but there should be many peoples using 5.2 with default settings. May be this would be a kind of FAQ trouble. This is the 1.3.3 output (bundled with RH5.2): [ogura@sdev ogura]$ /usr/sbin/apxs Usage: apxs -g -n <modname> apxs -q <query> ... apxs -c [-o <dsofile>] [-D <name>[=<value>]] [-I <incdir>] [-L <libdir>] [-l <libname>] <files> ... apxs -i [-a] [-n <modname>] <dsofile> ... This is the 1.3.6 output (bundled with RH6.0) : [ogura@rs ogura]$ /usr/sbin/apxs Usage: apxs -g -n <modname> apxs -q <query> ... apxs -c [-o <dsofile>] [-D <name>[=<value>]] [-I <incdir>] [-L <libdir>] [-l <libname>] [-Wc,<flags>] [-Wl,<flags>] <files> ... apxs -i [-a] [-A] [-n <modname>] <dsofile> ... -- Kazuhiro Ogura (ogura@hde.co.jp) Horizon Digital Enterprise, Inc.
