Did I mention...
I wrote a recursive directory listing function in PHP to replace the Apache
mod_autoindex.
Recursive listing of 36,615 files and 1434 directories:
PHP 3.0.11 Win32 - after 25 minutes has listed ~1500 files, runs out of
memory, hangs server process.
PHP 4.0b1 Win32 - after 4 minutes finishes listing all files and directories
without a hitch
Definite improvement there. However, I really can't get any other script to
work.
