I finally managed to get PHP4 compiled on AIX (thanks, Heinrich!). I can't start up Apache though, because I can't get the .conf files set up properly. I ran the conversion script on my old httpd.conf, but it still generates errors when I try to start Apache: Syntax error on line 672 of /usr/local/www/conf/httpd.conf: php_admin_value takes two arguments, PHP Value Modifier (Admin) ../bin/apachectl startssl: httpd could not be started Here's the relevant section of httpd.conf: # PHP3 Directives <IfModule mod_php3.c> php3_error_reporting7 </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php4.c> php_admin_value error_reporting 7 </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php3.c> php3_track_varson </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php4.c> php_admin_flag track_vars on </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php3.c> php3_sendmail_path'/usr/sbin/sendmail </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php4.c> php_admin_value sendmail_path '/usr/sbin/sendmail -t' </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php3.c> php3_include_path'/usr/local/www/htdocs/include:/usr/local/www/ht docs/phpMyAdmin ' </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php4.c> php_admin_value include_path '/usr/local/www/htdocs/include:/usr/local/www/htdoc s/phpMyAdmin' </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php3.c> php3_auto_prepend_file'/usr/local/www/htdocs/include/prepend.php3 ' </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php4.c> php_admin_value auto_prepend_file '/usr/local/www/htdocs/include/prepend.php3' </IfModule> </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php3.c> php3_max_execution_time60 </IfModule> <IfModule mod_php4.c> php_admin_value max_execution_time 60 </IfModule> It seems to be choking on the very first directive, "php_admin_value error_reporting 7". The documentation is a bit sparse, but that looks correct as far as I can tell. I did notice that the php3 directives seem to have lost the space separating the directive name from the value (though these presumably are irrelevant if I've only got php4 compiled into Apache). Any ideas? Brian
