I had the exact same error on b1 and b2. You can fix this by editing the php_regex.h file to use the system regex.h. I'm sure there is a better fix for this, but I have my Apache running fine with it, along with alot of other modules: SunOS kevlar 5.7 Generic_106542-05 i86pc i386 i86pc Apache/1.3.6 (Unix) mod_fastcgi/2.2.2 PHP/4.0B2 DAV/0.9.8 mod_macro/1.1.1 mod_perl/1.21 mod_ssl/2.3.11 OpenSSL/0.9.4 On Wed, Aug 11, 1999 at 05:06:23AM -0400, Gilles Frydman wrote: > Return-Path: <php4beta-return-3328-jeff=websitefactory.net@lists.php.net> > Delivered-To: trn@localhost.websitefactory.net > Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) > by kevlar.websitefactory.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4C6158BCD > for <trn@localhost>; Wed, 11 Aug 1999 05:03:00 -0400 (EDT) > (envelope-from php4beta-return-3328-jeff=websitefactory.net@lists.php.net) > Received: from mail.websitefactory.net > by localhost with IMAP (fetchmail-5.0.6) > for trn@localhost (single-drop); Wed, 11 Aug 1999 05:03:00 -0400 (EDT) > Received: from php.net (unknown [208.247.106.167]) > by ns1.websitefactory.net (Postfix) with SMTP id 50E69AE605 > for <jeff@websitefactory.net>; Wed, 11 Aug 1999 05:02:43 -0400 (EDT) > (envelope-from php4beta-return-3328-jeff=websitefactory.net@lists.php.net) > Received: (qmail 11655 invoked by uid 510); 11 Aug 1999 09:01:56 -0000 > Mailing-List: contact php4beta-help@lists.php.net; run by ezmlm > Precedence: bulk > Delivered-To: mailing list php4beta@lists.php.net > Received: (qmail 11642 invoked from network); 11 Aug 1999 09:01:55 -0000 > Date: Wed, 11 Aug 1999 05:06:23 -0400 (edt) > From: Gilles Frydman <gilles@dorsai.org> > X-Sender: gilles@amanda > To: php4beta@lists.php.net > In-Reply-To: <934361352.6188.ezmlm@lists.php.net> > Message-ID: <Pine.SUN.3.96.990811045644.11505B-100000@amanda> > MIME-Version: 1.0 > Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII > Subject: [PHP4BETA] Failed Install > Sender: php4beta-return-3328-jeff=websitefactory.net@lists.php.net > > Solaris 2.6, Apache 1.3.6 and php-4.0b2 > > The install fails at: > > gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../.. -I../../libzend -I../../TSRM > -I/usr/local/src/php-4.0b2/../apache_1.3.6/src/include -I/usr/local > /src/php-4.0b2/../apache_1.3.6/src/os/unix -I/usr/local/include/mysql -I../.. > -I../../libzend -g -O2 -g -O2 -c browscap.c > In file included from ../../php_regex.h:5, > from browscap.c:22: > ../../regex/regex.h:31: warning: `REG_EXTENDED' redefined > /usr/include/regex.h:28: warning: this is the location of the previous > definition > ../../regex/regex.h:32: warning: `REG_ICASE' redefined > /usr/include/regex.h:30: warning: this is the location of the previous > definition > > ........... > > In file included from ../../php_regex.h:5, > from browscap.c:22: > ../../regex/regex.h:15: conflicting types for `regoff_t' > /usr/include/regex.h:23: previous declaration of `regoff_t' > .......... > > *** Error code 1 > make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `browscap.o' > Current working directory /usr/local/src/php-4.0b2/ext/standard > *** Error code 1 > make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all-recursive' > Current working directory /usr/local/src/php-4.0b2/ext > > > Any help to solve this problem will be much appreciated. > TIA. > > > -- > PHP 4 Beta > -- Jeffrey H.
