Introducing new variables just bloats the whole process up.
Avoid it, if possible.
APXS_LDFLAGS would be a more reasonable choice then.
And for what is abs(olute)_srcdir? I've tested the compile
process on Linux and FreeBSD-current and it worked
flawlessly.
