Linux PHP4 and --with-oracle=/orahome -> Apache refuses to config ure the module

Ok, well, I gave up with trying to do --with-oracle.
I'm now using --with-oci-8, since the database and webserver are on the same
machine........
I seemed to have been able to compile and install everything, but I'm
getting a "Fatal error: Call to undefined function: oci8_logon() in
/websites/sites/jazzsax/default.php on line 116"
I'm running OpenLinux 2.2 with Apache 1.3.9 and PHP4b2. Oracle 8.1.5.
Line 116 looks like this:
$conn = ocilogon("eric","1223");
Did something NOT compile right?
