PDFlib rears its head again

Hi All, Does anyone know the magic to get PDFlib 2.01 to compile in? Everything I need except this & gd1.2 works fine.(It happily compiles in gd 1.3, but it only produces PNGs these days.) and its ignoring --with-gd=/usr/local From the archives, it seems that everyone is either sick of PDFlib problems or the fix is so embarrasingly obvious no one has posted it publicly. The Error: checking for PDF_close in -lpdf2.01... no configure: error: pdflib extension requires pdflib 2.x. You may as well need libtiff and libjpeg. In such a case use the options --with-tiff-dir=<DIR> and --with-jpeg-dir=<DIR> # ldconfig -p|grep pdf libpdf2.01.so (libc6) => /usr/local/lib/libpdf2.01.so libpdf.so.2.0.1 (libc6) => /usr/local/lib/libpdf.so.2.0.1 (where libpdf.so.2.0.1 is a copy of libpdf2.01.so) and there is also the static version in /usr/local/lib FWIW, I cant compile it into 3.0.12 either.
