XML compile problem...

Sorry, if this is a repost. I've been experiencing problems with Hotmail... Running php4, beta 2. I looked at the PHP manual and it says that "if you are using Apache-1.3.7 or later, you already have the required expat library. Simply configure PHP using --with-xml (without any additional path) and it will automatically use the expat library built into Apache". I did this, but the compile failed with the xmltok.h/xmlparse.h: No such file or directory error. I tried installing the expat.src.rpm and it still fails. Am I missing something?
