freebsd php4cvs compile failure

flex version 2.5.4
php4 cvs just checkedout.
libzend updated
./buildconf works fine..
./configure --prefix=/usr/local --with-apxs=/usr/local/sbin/apxs --with-gd=/
usr/local --with-mysql=/usr/local --with-pgsql=/usr/local --enable-versionin
g=yes --enable-track-vars --with-xml=/usr/local --with-config-file-path=/usr
/local/etc/
(but i got this problem also with simpler configurations)
kid [root] /usr/src/cvs/php4> make
make all-recursive
Making all in libzend
flex -Pzend -ozend-scanner.c -i
then it hangs... it seem flex does nothing... after an hour i ^C 'ed it..
i last succesfully compiled php4 10 days ago.
