Include directories in httpd

I want to make and include directory in the apache config file. I use something like this: <Directory /test> php3_include_path .:/path/to/present/working/directory/include </Directory> andapache will not restart and complains that there is a misconfiguration. Of course I have tried without the '3' and put a '4' in there, but still to no success. Any suggestions as to what could be causing this? I know this will work with php3, is it no supported yet? TIA.
