Hi, I'm trying out PHP4, beta 2. I am using the OOP stuff kind of
heavily, and have noticed a significant drop off in page speed (from
20/sec to 5/sec) as compared to our previous (propietary) implementation
using the same sorts of database calls.
Question 1: Is ZEND caching the compiled code after the first request,
or is it re-interpreting each time?
Question 2: I noticed that on www.zend.com, there is a benchmarks page
(zend v asp) that mentions an optimizer. The performance with the
optimizer is substantially better than with plain zend. So, is this
optimizer included with php 4 beta 2, or is it available elsewhere? If
included, does it need to be enabled somehow?
thx.
