Yes, that should exist and be the case for higher level functions
built on the PHP core but DB abstraction for sanity's sake and some
form of template processing for speed seem to me to be core features.
A recent interview with some of the developers (ex-zeev and stas)
indicated that DB abstraction and templating were on the way...
now I'm a little worried and confused... can someone comfirm or
not whether these two important (to me) core features will be so ?
