Oracle 8.0.5 for Linux is installed on this machine. I am not running the DBMS on this machine, just using the Net8 stuff to connect to another machine. I compiled Apache with: ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --enable-shared=max make make install I then compiled PHP4b3 with: ./configure --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --with-oci8 make Then I get this at the end of the compile: *** Warning: This library needs some functionality provided by -lpsa. *** I have the capability to make that library automatically link in when *** you link to this library. But I can only do this if you have a *** shared version of the library, which you do not appear to have. *** Warning: This library needs some functionality provided by -lcore4. *** I have the capability to make that library automatically link in when *** you link to this library. But I can only do this if you have a *** shared version of the library, which you do not appear to have. *** Warning: This library needs some functionality provided by -lnlsrtl3. *** I have the capability to make that library automatically link in when *** you link to this library. But I can only do this if you have a *** shared version of the library, which you do not appear to have. *** The inter-library dependencies that have been dropped here will be *** automatically added whenever a program is linked with this library *** or is declared to -dlopen it. I have /usr/local/oracle/8.0.5/lib in my ld.so.conf file. The only shared lib in this dir was libclntsh.so.1.0. I found liboci80.so on the CD, so I stuck it in there also, but the same problem remains. Is my version of Oracle deficient? Thanks for the help and your excellent work! Rob
